The next Republican Party debate on Thursday night will have only seven candidates on the main stage, as the Fox Business network moved Rand Paul and Carly Fiorina to a pre-debate forum. Paul swiftly announced that he would boycott the event, arguing he deserves to be on the main stage.

"See you in New Hampshire and Iowa," the Paul campaign said in a written statement.

With Paul not attending, that means three Republicans will be on the debate under card: Fiorina, Rick Santorum and Mike Huckabee.

Seven Republicans will be on the main stage in prime time: Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Ben Carson, Jeb Bush, Chris Christie and John Kasich.

Kasich, Bush and Christie qualified because of their good poll numbers in New Hampshire; all three have struggled to stay in the hunt in national polls, as well as in Iowa.
