A woman in Texas decided to hold a “wedding” ceremony to herself for her 40th birthday. She got a dress, a church, and invited people she knew to watch her marry herself. I don’t think she is the first to do the ridiculous gesture but she definitely created a buzz.
People all over the world have called her pitiful, desperate, attention-seeking, and crazy. Do you think being single makes us do crazy things like this?
I think the Texas “bride” has the right idea in that you should love and cherish yourself. I don’t get why a wedding was needed to show that, though. What would you do if someone you knew invited you to a “marry myself” wedding?
