Downpours have left much of the metro area, but are expected to continue through the weekend.
Rains have reached just south of Atlanta drenching Clayton County, Channel 2 Action News reported.
Earlier, a flash flood warning was issued for parts of Bartow and Cherokee counties. Between two and three inches of rain had fallen in the warning areas by 1:30 p.m.
Though much of the rain has left the area and isn’t expected overnight, Friday could see light showers in the morning.
Rain chances are at 60 percent Friday with any scattered showers increasing in the afternoon, Channel 2 reported. There is an expected high of 86 degrees, just shy of the average of 89 for this time of year.
There is a 40 percent chance of rain this weekend, when dry air is expected to enter the metro area Saturday reducing humidity.
Currently, the temperature is 77 degrees in Atlanta. The average high for this time of year is 89, according to Channel 2.
