Get ready for lots of sunshine this weekend.
“Hopefully you’ll be enjoying maybe a pool or a lake this weekend as temperatures climb once again for many of us into the lower 90s,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Katie Walls said.
Highs in Atlanta are expected to reach 91 degrees Saturday and 90 degrees Sunday before dropping to the 80s early next week.
A cold front will “finally bring us some more comfortable temperatures,” Walls said.
The metro area could get rain Sunday, when there is a 10 percent precipitation. But showers are more likely Monday and Tuesday, when there is a 30 percent chance of precipitation, meteorologists said.
In the meantime, brace yourself for the heat.
Temperatures were 86 degrees in Atlanta, 73 in Blairsville and 76 in Griffin just before 9 p.m.
“I know there are a lot of neighborhoods that are actually keeping open their pools,” Walls said. “For good reason.”
