Now that Michael Vick is the NFL Comeback Player of the Year, should his high school jersey also be restored to a place of prominence?

That's the debate at Warwick High in Newport News, Va., where administrators have rejected a student request to put Vick's jersey back on display.

School officials told TMZ the jersey won't go back up this school year because it could be a distraction. They did, however, say they might revisit the issue in the future.

As of 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, 628 people had endorsed a student's Facebook page titled "Michael Vick High School Jersey Reframed." But a Facebook petition opposing the move had 1,083 supporters.

The high school took down Vick's jersey after he went to federal prison in 2007 on dogfighting charges. Vick played six seasons for the Falcons before going to prison; he's entering his third year with Philadelphia.
