Kickoff has been delayed for the Georgia-South Carolina game here at Williams-Brice Stadium is now set for 5:05 p.m.

Orginally set for a 3:39 p.m. kickoff, the start was delayed due to “unsafe weather conditions” and lightning in the area. According to South Carolina associate athletic director Charles Bloom, NCAA and SEC policy calls for a suspension of action for 30 minutes following the last lightning strike within eight-mile radius of a stadium.

No. 6 Georgia (1-0) and No. 24 South Carolina (1-1, 0-1 SEC) are scheduled to kick off in a nationally-televised football game at 3:39 p.m. Saturday. According to weather.com, there is a 60 percent chance of thunderstorms at 4 p.m. and the percentage increases by the hour after that.
