Kyle Korver, the Hawks starting shooting guard, has worn a compression sleeve on his shooting arm for much of the year.

Kyle Korver is scheduled to have surgery on his right elbow Tuesday, the team announced.

The procedure will remove loose bodies in the elbow that have bothered Korver, particularly late in the season. Korver, the Hawks starting shooting guard, has worn a compression sleeve on his shooting arm for much of the year.

The surgery will be performed at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City by Dr. David Altchek. The renowned Altchek is the Medical Director for the New York Mets and a consultant for the NBA.

A timeline for his recovery will be determined following the procedure.

Korver had surgery earlier this month to repair a season-ending right ankle injury suffered in the Eastern Conference finals. He was scheduled for a follow-up doctor’s appointment in New York on Monday. Korver said last week he expected to be ready for the start of training camp in September.
