Steph Curry may arguably be the best player on an NBA court this season.

So what?

ESPN recently asked three former pros, including Dream head coach Michael Cooper, how they would stop last year's MVP - who is scoring 32.2 points per game,  shooting 52.9 percent from the floor and is on pace to hit more than 400 3-pointers this season.

"How would I stop Steph?" asked Cooper, who as a defensive stalwart won five NBA titles with the "Showtime" Lakers. "Same way I stopped his daddy."

Hmm.

As a 6-foot-5, 170-pound guard, Cooper could go head to head with the best of them

"He really likes to get a little space before he shoots. So knocking him down would've been the first plan of attack with him," Cooper said. "Absolutely."

"The first time he went to the basket, I'd put him down. First time. Because you always try to make your first foul to send a message. After that, anything else I could've done to throw him off, I'd have tried that, too."

Like trash talk? Get in his head?

"The way I handled Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, George Gervin, guys like that -- I'd talk a little bit till I saw what they had [that night]."

Hear that coach, Bud?

The 25-1 Golden State Warriors will face the Hawks for the first time this season Feb. 22 at Philips Arena.
