Spring training is a week away. Yes, just seven days until pitchers and catchers report to the Braves training complex in North Port, Florida.
Hope springs eternal, they say. No need to look back on the bitter ending of last season. It’s time to look forward.
Two large moving vans left Truist Park bound for Florida on Monday loaded with equipment, which, according to the Braves, included 1,200 bags of sunflower seeds. You can never be too prepared.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution will have a team in Florida as well. We will bring you the absolute best Braves coverage with our team of reporters, columnists, photographers, videographers and podcasters. For more than 40 days, until the March 28 season opener in Philadelphia (geez, the Phillies again), Team AJC will bring you all the news, opinion, and context you need to be an informed fan.
Here is our lineup:
- Braves beat reporter Justin Toscano. You can follow Justin on X, formerly Twitter, @JustinCToscano.
- Sports features reporter Gabriel Burns
- Sports columnists Michael Cunningham and Ken Sugiura
- Sports digital reporter Sarah K. Spencer and producer Cody Chaffins
- Photographer Hyosub Shin
That’s just the start.
Justin will bring you daily coverage before and through the exhibition season, which begins Feb. 24. Gabriel will tour Florida for stories that matter to the Braves, including what’s happening with the Phillies and Mets. Michael and Ken will provide opinion on what’s happening and what may happen this season. Sarah and Cody will bring videos on the action and what the players and coaches have to say. Hyosub will capture the scene and action with his stunning photography.
The AJC will again have the Braves Report newsletter that includes Justin’s weekly Braves Dispatch on Friday. Sign up for the inside information. Justin will also be a part of the Braves Report podcast, where he will offer more insight and behind-the-scenes content.
