Mama June Shannon has no plans to go back to her old body.

After losing nearly 300 pounds, Shannon said she will "never go back" to being overweight. In a new interview with PEOPLE, Shannon reveals that years of overeating made her slowly pack on the pounds. When she discovered that her ex, Mike "Sugar Bear" Thompson, was getting remarried, she decided she had had enough.

Shannon returned to reality TV in her new series, “Mama June: From Not To Hot,” which documented her total body transformation. She practiced portion control, exercised regularly and underwent several surgical procedures, including a gastric sleeve, a breast lift and skin removal surgery, to get her body down to a size four.

“I can promise you I’m never going back to that size,” she said. “I’m happy where I’m at.”

Now that her weight is under control, Shannon hopes to pass the same healthy habits on to her daughters, Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon and Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson.

“I’ve seen Pumpkin and Alana lose and gain weight, but I don’t want them to end up like I did at 460 pounds. Who would want that?” she said.

She admitted that the weight loss journey hasn’t always been easy and that she had to learn portion control and moderation the hard way after getting her gastric sleeve.

“I’m not going to lie to you: I have thrown up, because you can’t over eat with the gastric sleeve,” Shannon said. “That’s not a thing that I recommend to somebody. You realize what you can and can’t do, and when you do it that one time, you don’t do it again.”

The finale of “Mama June: From Not To Hot” airs Friday at 9 p.m. ET on WEtv.
