Now casting: Diane Keaton film seeking high schoolers, retirees, more

‘Poms’

Diane Keaton and Jacki Weaver ("Silver Linings Playbook," "The Disaster Artist") will star in "Poms," a comedy about a group of women who form a cheerleading squad at their community, according to Deadline. Zara Hayes ("The Battle of the Sexes") is directing.

What are they looking for?

The following roles are being cast:

  • High school students – Men and women of any ethnicity are needed to portray high school students. You'll need to be age 18 and up but look younger. (Subject line: "SCHOOL SPIRIT")
  • Older bowlers – Men and women of any ethnicity and age 50 and up are needed to portray bowling alley patrons. You don't have to be good at bowling to submit, but if you're a member of a bowling league or are on an amateur bowling team, that's a plus. (Subject line: "GUTTER BALL")
  • Bowling alley bartender – Men and women of any ethnicity and age 50 and up are needed to portray a bowling alley bartender, and you'll need to have bartending experience. (Subject line: "KINGPIN")
  • Cheering crowd at championship – Men and women of any ethnicity and age 18 and up are needed to portray fans at the national competitive cheerleading championship. (Subject line: "TOE TOUCH")
  • Stage hands and technical crew – Men and women of any ethnicity and age 25 and up are needed to portray stage hands and technical crew at a national competitive cheerleading championship. Note any prior stage or crew experience in your submission. (Subject line: "TECHNICAL")
  • Real cheerleading team – A female cheerleading squad comprised of any ethnicities is needed to portray a real cheerleading team. If not all girls from the squad are available, that's fine – between 18-24 girls will probably be needed. High school/competition squads are preferred. (Subject line: "TROPHY")
  • Active retirees – Men and women of any ethnicity age 58 and up are needed to portray active seniors living in a retirement community. If you have water aerobics experience, are willing to swim or have ever played lawn games like bocce ball, include this in your submission. (Subject line: "SUNRISE")
  • Senior cheer squad members – Women age 58 and up are needed to portray members of a senior cheer squad. Include any gymnastic, dance or cheerleading experience you have in your submission. ("ROUTINE")

When are they filming?

Filming will be in Atlanta on the following dates:

  • High school students - July 12, 13 and/or July 16
  • Older bowlers and bowling alley bartender - July 18
  • Active retirees and senior cheer squad members – July 23-Aug. 10 (You won't work every one of these days, but you should have open availability.)
  • Cheerleading crowd at championship and stage hands/technical crew – July 20
  • Real cheerleading team – Aug. 1

How much does it pay?

Roles pay $75 for eight hours for all roles, except for the real cheerleading team, whose pay will be determined.
