Police said two women are behind bars after stealing more than $1,000 in merchandise from a department store and assaulting the employee who tried to stop them.

Jazlynn Washington and Jasmine Davis also sped off from a Tulsa Kohl's with a toddler unbuckled in the front seat, police said.

Officers said Washington had the 2-year-old with her when she punched the store's loss prevention officer, who is nine months pregnant. Emergency responders came to the scene and made sure she's OK.

Police tried catching the women as Davis sped out of the parking lot. Washington had her son sitting in her lap with no seat belt or car seat.

Davis sped through school zones, ran red lights and drove on the wrong side of the road while being pursued by police.

The women were arrested after their tires blew out and the vehicle crashed.
