Q: Do any of the Atlanta television stations plan a live broadcast of the eclipse?

—Glenn Miles, Cleveland

A: Yes. Channel 2 Action News' solar eclipse plans include a live TV broadcast and digital coverage. The station will have crews in metro Atlanta, the Tellus Science Museum in Cartersville, University of Georgia, North Georgia mountains, Clemson, S.C., and Charleston, S.C. It plans to livestream the entire 94-minute eclipse on its website, wsbtv.com, and via Facebook Live (facebook.com/wsbtv).

CBS46 will be on the air with continuing live coverage during the peak eclipse viewing time (1-4 p.m.), and through its evening news, from 4-6:30 p.m., news director Steve Doerr told Q&A on the News via email. Live crews will be positioned throughout the region and the state to provide views and reactions. The station's website, cbs46.com, and Facebook page (facebook.com/CBS46), also will have extensive, bonus coverage, Doerr wrote in an email.

Fox 5 Atlanta will have reporters all over Georgia capturing the excitement of the eclipse, including live coverage in the "path of totality" area in north Georgia, at the University of Georgia and with Atlanta scientists tracking the eclipse with telescopes, Fox publicist Victoria Gurrieri told Q&A on the News via email. Fox 5 Chief Meteorologist David Chandley will lead the TV coverage and online coverage on the station's Facebook page (facebook.com/fox5atlanta), Fox 5 News app and fox5atlanta.com.

11Alive plans to have live coverage from North Georgia’s Rabun Gap throughout the day, and from 2-3 p.m. it will air the total solar eclipse, according to its website.
