Company and job review site Glassdoor has released its list of the the 25 highest-paying companies in the United States.

The website posted the list on its blog Wednesday and based the rankings on each company's median total compensation, which was determined from at least 50 voluntary and anonymous reports in U.S. dollars from March 2, 2016 to March 1, 2017. The reports came from U.S.-based employees on Glassdoor.

USA Today reported that the business at the top of the list is lesser-known consulting company A.T. Kearney, with a median total salary of $175,000.

Glassdoor chief economist Dr. Andrew Chamberlain said in-demand skills are the reason why so many tech and consulting companies dominate the list.

“Salaries are sky-high at consulting companies due to ‘barriers of entry’ in this field, which refers to employers wanting top consultants to have personal contacts, reputations and specialized skills and knowledge,” Chamberlain said. “In technology, we continue to see unprecedented salaries as the war for talent is still very active, largely due to the ongoing shortage of highly skilled workers needed.”

Bloomberg reported that, according to Chamberlain, pay does not necessarily equate to a great place to work.

“We see companies on the list with CEOs who have very high approval ratings -- and some with lower approval ratings,” Chamberlain said.

Popular tech companies on the list ranked out of the top five. Google came in at No. 6 with $155,250 median total salary; Facebook at No. 7 and $155,000 median total salary, and Microsoft came in at No. 19 with $144,000 median total salary.
