These two Florida fisherman prove that a shark story doesn't HAVE to be about a shark attack.
Stefan Spadaro's friend had just caught a small shark while fishing in the St. John's River Friday evening when they had a spur-of-the-moment idea ... shark selfie.
The two were fishing near Heaven Trees Road across from the Ortega Yacht Club and decided to share this shark selfie with Action News Friday evening.
"I felt like this needed to be shared," Spadaro said via email.
The 2-foot 8-inch black-tip shark didn't put up much of a fight and even looks to be smiling with his new friends in the picture.
"With all the recent shark attacks, I believe this would draw interest," Spadaro said via email. "I haven't heard of any black-tips being caught south of Fuller Warren Bridge. I thought you might share this hilarious selfie as well."
Spadaro and his friend caught the shark around 6:15 p.m. Friday and released it safely back into the water.
