A Russian woman was arrested last week after investigators said she stabbed her German husband to death at their home in Majorca, an island off Spain, and then fed pieces of his corpse to her dog.

Svetlana Batukova, 46, was found next to the corpse of her husband, Horst Hans Henkels, 66, by authorities on Friday with parts of his arm appearing to be stripped from the bone, The Independent reports. The married couple, who tied the knot in January, have had calls to their home in the past for domestic issues.

According to The Local, Batukova stabbed Henkels with a kitchen knife multiple times before letting him bleed to death. Authorities said she cut off flesh from his arms and fed it to the couple's dog, an American Staffordshire bull terrier, after he was deceased.

The Local added that Henkels had recently had surgery on his trachea and was unable to speak well. Police said Batukova “appeared to be under the influence of drugs and alcohol” at the time of her arrest, and The Independent added that she “had previously attempted to arrange her husband’s death by offering someone money to kill (him).”
