Sleepyheads using the Ruggie will physically have to get out of bed and step on the mat to get the alarm to turn off.
Mashable reports that you have to stand on the foam pad for three seconds, meaning you have to actually get out of bed to turn off the beep.
If it seems cruel, there is a perk to keeping yourself from crawling back under the covers. The rug will play customizable speeches or funny sayings to get you motivated and laughing all the way to your morning shower.
The Ruggie has already surpassed its Kickstarter goal with over $70,000 pledged so far. The company plans to sell the alarm clock mat for $99.
