Parents and students at a California high school are upset after a naked man walked into a girls’ locker room Monday night and exposed himself to five cheerleaders.

The South San Francisco students said Tuesday that they had just finished practice the night before and were changing when the nude man silently entered the locker room.

“We all ran together, we were scared,” freshman cheerleader Alondra Gomez said. “He didn't say anything. He was just standing there, staring at us.”

The girls said they huddled together, frightened, in a corner of the locker room.

“He made some gestures to us and we just got scared,” said freshman cheerleader Cindy Nevarez. “As soon as we saw him, we didn't know what to do.”

“I didn't yell because I thought maybe he would come at us if we yelled or we made any noise,” said Nancy Nevarez, a junior cheerleader.

Eventually, the man left and later one of the girls called 911.

South San Francisco Police were unable to find the man but describe him as a white male, about 40 years old. His height ranges from 5'9” to 5'10'. He's also described as balding, with short brown hair and a pot belly.

Police say the suspect could face an indecent exposure charge.

“Depending on what the actions of the suspect were, if he talked or touched anyone, there's obviously other charges that'd apply to that,” said Cpl. Sean Curmi of South San Francisco Police Department.

The girls spent time after school Tuesday speaking again to police detectives. They are still shaken and all say they want more staff around in the gym.

“It made me realize how anything could happen without supervision,” said Nancy Nevarez. “We didn't have any supervision when it happened.”
