Man 'saves' barbecue ribs from apartment fire in hilarious video

Nothing can come between this man and his ribs, even if it means risking his life.

Robert Wright tells KMPH Fox 26 that he was cooking up some ribs around 3:00 a.m. Tuesday when a fire broke out in his next door neighbor's apartment.

"Only thing I think first man, make sure them ribs is right," says Wright, holding his rack of meat, which made it out safe and sound.

After grabbing his ribs, he made sure to get his kids safely out of the apartment. Wright was then ready to eat.

"I didn't want to let my ribs burn and stuff because I take pride in what I do."

A mother and her 6-year-old son next door were able to escape out a back window and were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation. 

Video of the 'rib hero' has gone viral, racking up more than 380,000 views.
