Officials released dash-cam video Wednesday of a wild end to a police chase through an Auburn neighborhood.
After an 18-year old suspect crashed through someone's fence last month, he tried to run and was tackled by an officer.
Video shows the officer’s incredulous reaction to the teen’s excuse.
Officer: “Why would you take off and put everyone's lives in danger? Why?”
Teen: “Because I don't have insurance.”
Officer: “You don't have insurance!?”
Teen: “No”
Officer: “You don't have insurance!?”
Teen: “And I just got a $1,000 no-insurance ticket.”
Officer: “So, you would take off and do all of that for another insurance ticket? Are you kidding me?”
Turns out, the teen fled for another reason.
Police said when officers searched his car, they found what looked like pipe bombs.
A bomb squad was called in to disarm the devices.
