Video of a Michigan police officer assisting a skunk with a yogurt cup stuck on its head is making its way around the internet.
Since the Rochester Police Department posted the video on Facebook on Sunday, it's been shared and viewed hundreds of thousands of times.
The video comes from the dashcam of an officer's cruiser. It shows the officer pulling up to find a juvenile skunk circling the street with a cup stuck on its head.
After carefully evaluating the situation, the officer puts on his gloves and prepares to help the vexed varmint. He quickly pulls the cup off the skunk's head and the skunk reacted the way you might imagine. He turned around, and tried to spray the officer who dropped the cup and ran away to avoid the spray.
What the officer didn't know is that juvenile skunks are not able to spray in self defense.
Either way, the officer is a good Samaritan and the video is hilarious.
