Police arrested two people last week in an incident involving stolen checked baggage fees, police said.

Talisha Evans, 30, and Shana Byers, 35, were both arrested in connection to the incident, according to a police spokesperson.

A police report of the incident said a ticket agent for United Airlines, was found to be embezzling checked baggage fees at Charlotte Douglas International Airport. It's not clear how much money was allegedly taken or when. The arrests happened Thursday afternoon.

Evans showed up in the Mecklenburg County jail facing one count of embezzlement. It wasn't clear what, if any charges, Byers is facing.

United Airlines said both people are employed by a vendor, G2, which provides customer service in Charlotte.

A spokesperson for United Airlines released a statement Monday:

“We have zero tolerance for theft. Together with our vendors we are assisting the Charlotte Police Department [sic] in this investigation."
