The Suwanee City Council voted recently to renew its agreement with the North Gwinnett Arts Association. The agreement provides $48,000 per year from the city to the NGAA for services and agrees to promote the Suwanee Arts Center on the city’s website, social media and other city-managed outlets.

In return, the NGAA operates the Suwanee Arts Center at 3930 Charleston Market St. in Suwanee Town Center. The NGAA is responsible for staffing the Arts Center and providing welcome-center amenities like directions, brochures, maps, community information and tours as needed. The center is also responsible for selling Suwanee-branded materials like mugs, towels, artwork, t-shirts and other merchandise.

The NGAA also agrees to operate two ‘first-class community-wide public events’ at Town Center Park per year and agrees to create a minimum of one public artwork on an annual basis. NGAA also provides informal and unspecified on-going professional art consulting services to the city and an annual report of the association’s activities.
