Summer programs canceled in another North Fulton city

Johns Creek has canceled some park programs until further notice for safety measures during the ongoing pandemic. The city will also reopen some park facilities on Monday.

City parks started reopening May 15 but some facilities and spaces remained closed. On Monday, playgrounds and basketball courts will be open at city parks, as well as Newtown Dog Park, according to a city statement.

The basketball courts at Ocee Park will stay closed due to construction.

Facility rentals, adaptive recreation programs and Park Place Senior Center programs are canceled until further notice, the statement said.

Here’s a list of more programs and events that are on hold:

• The Summer Concert Series at Newtown Park (June 5)
• Movies at Newtown Park (June 12)
• LEGO Camp at Newtown Park (June 22-26)
• Johns Creek park association athletic programs and leagues
• Fitness classes at park clubhouses
