The public input period remains open for how Fulton County should spend next year's federal Community Development Block Grant, HOME Investment Partnerships and Emergency Shelter Grant funds. A comment period is required by the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The county usually gets about $3 million per year, mainly intended to improve living conditions of low- and moderate-income residents.

Upcoming public meetings include one Thursday at 5 p.m. at the H.J.C. Bowden Senior Center, 2885 Church St., East Point, and another Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Southwest Library, 3665 Cascade Road, S.W., Atlanta. The deadline for comments is Sept. 14, and they can be emailed to Lolita.Collins@fultoncountyga.gov. Information: 404-613-7944.
