The Smyrna City Council agreed Monday to establish fees for a new alcohol license type, that of a hotel sundry shop/hotel reception license.

One fee will be $575, allowing for both beer and wine sales and permitting Sunday sales in hotel sundry shops and for hotel receptions.

If the hotel already has an alcohol pouring license and wants alcohol sales for hotel sundry shops and hotel receptions, a second add-on license is required for $200, the same fee charged for wine specialty shops and growler shops for beer.

Hotel alcohol sale hours are 8 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 12:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Sundays.

A separate Sunday sales permit is not required for hotels.

Another change to the city’s alcohol ordinance is the allowance of alcohol sales on election days.

Also, the council granted a beer and wine package sales license to Sprouts Farmers Market, 3440 East-West Connector at South Cobb Drive.
