Six transportation matters, totaling $25,359,277, were approved Dec. 12 by the Cobb County Board of Commissioners.

They include:

  • $19,954,000 to Atkins North America, Inc. for program management services for the 2005, 2011 and 2016 SPLOST Transportation Improvement programs for Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2019.
  • $4,407,292 to C. W. Matthews Contracting Company for roadway improvements on Sandy Plains Road from East Piedmont Road to Ebenezer Road.
  • $375,011 to Baldwin Paving Company, Inc. for additional resurfacing of a segment of Sandy Plains Road from Ebenezer Road to Shallowford Road.
  • $357,490 to American Engineers, Inc. for engineering design of roadway improvements on Mack Dobbs Road from Caylor Circle to Cobb Parkway, a joint project with the city of Kennesaw.
  • $182,644 to CALYX Engineers and Consultants for engineering design of roadway improvements on Old 41 Highway for conversion of existing intersections to roundabouts or the relocation of White Road to align with Kennesaw Avenue.
  • $82,840 to AECOM Technical Services, Inc. for engineering design of intersection improvements on Factory Shoals Road at Riverside Parkway.
