The city of Roswell will show off the city’s newly-remodeled Roswell Area Park Pool as it debuts for the summer season on Saturday, which will also mark the 40th anniversary of the facility’s completion.

Recreation and parks officials said the refurbishing of the common areas included renovated bathrooms with new appliances and fixtures, remodeled shower and dressing room areas, new tile flooring, electrical and plumbing upgrades and concession stand improvements. Crews also renovated all the entrances to the pool and added a brand-new entrance. Officials say the project cost about $95,000.

For Saturday’s 40th anniversary bash, officials will roll back admission costs to 1975 levels-50 cents for kids, $1 for adults. The 50-meter Olympic-sized pool was built after voters approved a bond referendum, and today hosts an estimated 20,000 visitors a year.
