The Georgia Supreme Court has ruled against a Gwinnett County man who claimed the county was illegally charging residents a fee for waste collection services provided by private contractors.

After receiving a $321 bill for solid waste collection, Robert Mesteller sued the county and its Board of Commissioners, alleging the assessment and collection of the fee was unconstitutional. On Monday, the state Supreme Court disagreed, upholding a judge’s ruling to dismiss Mesteller’s suit.
