The Henry County Board of Commissioners approved a bid for a body armor contract for the Henry County Police Department.

It was awarded to Law Enforcement Supply of Marietta at the board’s September meeting. The new contract will begin when the current contract expires Sept. 30 and is for a period of one year with the purchasing director having the option to renew for two additional one-year periods.

A separate item pertaining to a request by the Henry County Fire Department resulted in the board approving an ordinance amendment that adds a late fee to penalty fees on inspections.

Failure to pay fire, safety and accessibility fees within 30 days will result in a late fee of an additional $25. A after 60 days an additional $50 will be added,” the amended ordinance states. “All late fees are cumulative. After 90 days, the Certificate of Occupancy will be revoked.”
