A new school board member in Cobb County will answer questions at an upcoming meeting of residents on the county's east side.

Scott Sweeney will speak at the next meeting of the East Cobb Civic Association, said Jill Flamm, the group's president. Speakers typically talk for about half an hour before fielding questions from the audience, she said.

The meeting is at 7 p.m. on June 29 at the East Cobb Government Center, 4400 Lower Roswell Rd., Marietta.
