Liberian Vice President Joseph Boakai will lead a government delegation to Atlanta to build business ties between the city and the African nation.
Atlanta is one of several U.S. cities that Boakai will visit. The delegation includes the minister of commerce, members of the Liberian legislature and the mayor of Monrovia. The Liberia and U.S. Business Summit 2012 will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at the Robert W. Woodruff Library on the campus of the Atlanta University Center.
While in Atlanta, members of the delegation plan to hold a wreath-laying ceremony at the crypt of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King and tour the historic district. The ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the King Center.
