Lawrenceville renews $100,000 wood pole replacement contract

The Lawrenceville City Council recently voted to renew the city’s annual wood pole replacement service contract to Over and Under General Contractors, Inc.

This $100,000 on demand contract for labor will replace wooden utility poles that have failed inspection. Materials will be supplied by the city’s electric department. This is the second of four renewal options with Over and Under General Contractors. Pricing has increased 3 percent as stipulated in the city’s agreement with the contractor.

Funds for this project come from the city’s Capital Outlay Fund. The project has $390,000 approved and available. With approval of this labor contract $290,000 will be remaining in the project. Lawrenceville maintains more than 4,000 utility poles.
