Officials in the highest offices of Henry County and the city of Stockbridge will be teleworking for the rest of the week, leaders with both governmental bodies said Tuesday.

Henry government announced that, with the exception of the elections office, it planned to close all county facilities through March 22. The county will evaluate next steps at the end of the weekend.

Stockbridge plans to close its offices and facilities after noon Wednesday with all staff working from home. The closure will continue for the rest of the week.

Stockbridge said calls to city will be picked up by voicemail and answered later. Both Henry and Stockbridge suggested citizens go online to pay bills.

"The safety of both our citizens and team members is important," Stockbridge City Manager Randy Knighton said. "We will continue to closely monitor the coronavirus and its impact on our community.”
