More than 1,300 students from Henry County’s public schools were served two meals each on the first day of the special curbside meal pickup organized by the district’s nutrition services department with the help of local community partners.

The service continues at Locust Grove Elementary, Hampton Middle, McDonough Middle and Stockbridge Middle from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. each weekday through March 27. Children must be present in the vehicle at the site to receive a lunch/breakfast combo for the next day. Food delivery is being made available for some who need that assistance.

Non-profit, faith-based, and volunteer organizations have reached out to share their willingness to help deliver to those unable to come to the schools, according to officials.
