The Henry County Board of Education voted at its Feb. 10 regular meeting to approve a $1,440,000 purchase of a campus response system from Centegix as well as its installation in every school in the county. The system has already been piloted in three schools — one elementary, one middle and one high school — and the cost of this contract is equal to $30,000 per school for the remaining 48 schools in the district.
According to a staff report, reimbursement from the state through the Governor’s 2019 Safety Grant will total $1,526,000 to cover the above cost as well as the $86,000 already spent for the pilot study, through which a district official told the board that the system has met all performance expectations.
