Would you shave your head to combat childhood cancer?
For St. Baldrick’s fundraising events, volunteers shave their heads in solidarity with children who typically lose their hair during treatment. Worldwide, 300,000 children are diagnosed with cancer each year. The St. Baldrick’s Foundation exists to change this reality. This volunteer-powered charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government.
While not everyone is up for losing their locks, anyone can still be part of this awesome event by attending, donating, or helping to spread the word. This year, Meehan’s hopes to shave over 100 heads and crush their goal $100,000.
When: noon to 4 p.m. March 11
Where: Meehan’s Public House, 227 Sandy Springs Place, Sandy Springs
