A former Fulton County case manager for the Multi-County Refugee Resettlement Unit recently pleaded guilty to defrauding Medicaid out of more than $12,000, the state Attorney General's Office said.

Valeriy Molokandov was sentenced to five years' probation and ordered to pay $12,351 in restitution. Molokandov was indicted on charges he used his position in the county's Department of Family and Children Services to help a number of relatives and friends obtain food stamps and other benefits even though they were not entitled to them, the AG's office said.
