Henry County officials hosted a dedication ceremony Dec. 5 at its fire station in the Kelleytown community, honoring late county commissioner Reid Bowman with a bronze marker.

Members of Bowman’s family were on hand for the event along with friends, county officials, present and former commissioners and public safety personnel. Bowman, who died in June, served two terms as commissioner for that area after being elected in 2006 and 2010.

The marker denotes him as “a dedicated public servant who served the citizens of Henry County by providing exceptional leadership and a powerful voice to advocate for the needs of citizens during his eight-year tenure. … Through his commitment as a public official, Commissioner Bowman leaves a legacy of faith, love and service to the citizens of Henry County.”
