The city of East Point will host a jazz festival at Sumner Park, 1889 Lexington Avenue, from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, April 27, according to a press release. Admission is free and open to the public.

This festival, organized by Councilmembers Alexander Gothard and Sharon Shropshire, showcases the talents of world-renowned jazz musicians:

  • International recording artist Reggie Hines
  • British singer, Julie Dexter
  • Trumpeter Milkshake Mayfield and the Milkshake Quintet
  • Red Shoes & Gravy
  • L'Tanya "Sugarlips" Shields.

This jazz festival provides an opportunity for residents and visitors to relax in the city parks while enjoying good music, food and the outdoors. A variety of food trucks will be onsite. Concert goers are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs. Tents, outside food and beverage or pets will not be allowed.
