The Henry County DUI/Drug Court, a treatment accountability court, was awarded a supplemental grant from the State of Georgia Office of the Governor/Criminal Justice Coordinating Council in the amount of $13,500 for fiscal year 2016.
The court follows proven best practices and state guidelines to decrease incarceration in the Henry County Jail and reduce DUI recidivism, according to county officials. The funds provided will cover $8,500 for drug testing and $5,000 for electronic monitoring. A match of $1,500 is required and these funds are available through currently funded personnel costs.
