Except for the high-occupancy vehicle lanes, the I-75 northbound lanes and then the I-75 southbound lanes at the north end of the Downtown Connector will be closed for resurfacing for nine nights starting Thursday, the Georgia Department of Transportation announced.
The work affects the I-75 portion of the Connector — the outside lanes — in Midtown between 10th Street and the Brookwood split where northbound I-75 and I-85 diverge. When regular lanes are closed, I-75 traffic will be allowed to use the HOV lanes. (Motorists going to and from I-85 will not be affected.)
Weather permitting, the affected I-75 northbound lanes will be closed from 9 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday; 9 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday; 9 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday; and 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.
The affected I-75 southbound lanes will be closed from 9 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday; 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, to 5 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 6; 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, to 5 a.m. Friday, Oct. 7; 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, to 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8; and 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, to 9 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 9.
