Police have found the parents of a child who was found wandering alone Tuesday in only his underwear at an apartment complex in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Investigators called the incident an unfortunate accident.
"The parents take turns watching the little boy because they work different shifts, and Mom was at work and Dad fell asleep, and I guess somehow (the boy) got out," DBPD spokeswoman Lyda Longa said.
He was found Tuesday at about 5:15 p.m.
Police announced just after 9 p.m. that the child's parents had been found.
Officers did a walk-through at the boy's apartment and said they didn't find anything of concern.
The child remained at the Daytona Beach Police Department headquarters while the Florida Department of Children and Families investigated the incident.
