The Cobb County Board of Commissioners voted 5-0 Tuesday to request a merit pay raise of 3 percent for the county’s elected officials to become effective July 1.
These raises would have to be approved by the Cobb delegation of the Georgia General Assembly and signed into law by Gov. Nathan Deal.
Salaries would increase from:
- $114,040 to $117,462 for sheriff
- $109,426 to $112,709 each for tax commissioner, clerk of Superior Court and judge of Probate Court
- $112,503 to $115,878 for clerk of State Court
- $152,368 to $156,939 for chief magistrate judge
- $129,877 to $133,774 for commission chairman
- $43,860 to $45,176 for each of the four county commissioners
- $19,000 to $19,570 for each of the seven county school board members
- $171,506 to $176,651 for State Court judge
- $149,006 to $153,476 for State Court judge, Division II
