Two suspects in a burglary of a skateboarding store near Kennesaw are cooperating with detectives, but Cobb County police are still looking for a third suspect, a 19-year-old from Marietta.
"The one that was supposed to turn himself in is still out there," Cobb police Sgt. Dana Pierce said of Cordero Brown.
An arrest warrant has been issued, charging Brown with burglary and theft by taking.
Two suspects are already in custody.
Police have charged Dustan Brady, 20, of Marietta, and a 15-year-old, whose name has not been released because of his age, also with burglary and theft by taking. Brady is being held at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center on $90,000 bond, according to jail records.
On May 2, Ambush Boarding Company store on Cobb Place Lane was burglarized. Skateboards, video cameras, clothing and sunglasses valued at about $100,000 were taken.
The investigation took a turn when the mother of one of the two in custody became suspicious of items she found in her son's bedroom and forced him to talk to police.
"The mother knew what her son was involved with as far as skating," Pierce told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Wednesday afternoon. "But when you have the sheer quantity and volumn [of skateboarding items] she wondered where he got it. "
Pierce said police have recovered about a third of what was taken.
Pierce said Brady and the teenager "have made statements to us. They are cooperating with police."
According to the arrest warrants, one of the suspects got inside the store through a rooftop air-conditioning unit and he opened a rear door so the other two could come inside.
The three were in the store for about 45 minutes. The burglary was caught on security video, Pierce said.
