The Du Bois Institute for Civic Engagement at Clark Atlanta University will present a forum examining voter participation 50 years after the Civil Rights Act.
The one-day symposium will feature various experts who will explore topics such as new barriers to voting access, voting rights violations, gerrymandering, and ways to increase civic participation.
The eight featured panelists include Franita Tolson, professor of Voting Rights at Florida State University College of Law; Mark Schmitt, director of the program on political reform at the New America Foundation and Dr. Wilbur C. Rich, professor of political science at Wellesley College.
Forum takes place 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Friday in the Thomas W. Cole Jr. Research Center for Science and Technology on CAU’s campus, 223 James P. Brawley Drive, S.W., Atlanta.
