Chattahoochee Hills has adopted the 2017 Fiscal Year Budget for July 1 through June 30, 2017. The budget has projected revenues and anticipated expenditures of $2,878,000, an increase of $382,828 or 13.3 percent from the last fiscal year’s budget of $2,495,172.
“This is the first budget that the city is projecting revenue in excess of expenditures while taking a conservative approach to these projections,” said Mayor Tom Reed. “The funds not allocated to specific expenditures will be set aside in a reserve account to meet the recommended contingency of 17 percent of the total General Fund. The remaining funds will be allocated to a Capital Improvement Project fund that can be used for those large capital projects acquisitions that typically exceed $25,000.”
Chattahoochee Hills also approved a list of projects to be funded by the Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax. If passed, the tax will go into effect the first quarter of 2017 and funds could be available by spring for maintenance and paving of city streets.
The five year TSPLOST is anticipated to yield approximately $3,045,766, a number based on the city population of 2,610, which is less than half of one percent of the total Fulton County population.
