Clayton County Water Authority celebrates Fix a Leak Week by encouraging customers to find and fix leaks to help stop the more than 1 trillion gallons of water wasted from household leaks in the U.S. every year. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s ongoing We’re for Water campaign promotes Fix a Leak Week every March to educate consumers on the importance of finding and fixing leaks to save water and reduce their monthly water bills, according to a press release.

Sponsored by EPA’s WaterSense program, Fix a Leak Week runs through March 25. In support of We’re for Water, CCWA’s Meter Services staff will provide hands on demonstrations to show customers how to check for leaky faucets and toilets and how to make simple repairs that save money and thousands of gallons of water.

“Customers are often surprised how much water is wasted when they have a dripping faucet or small toilet leak.” says P. Michael Thomas, general manager of the Clayton County Water Authority. “Fixing these minor leaks as soon as you find them saves water and keeps your water bill from going up.”
