The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking bidders for 2020 park attendant contracts at Lake Lanier, Allatoona Lake and other federal facilities.
Seventy-nine contracts are available across the corps’ Mobile District, including 12 at six Lanier campgrounds and 10 at five Allatoona campgrounds. Contract dates vary by site but generally run from March through September or October. Bids are due by 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, in the contracting office in Mobile, Ala.; contracts will be awarded Thursday, Nov. 7.
Staffing consists of two teams working rotating days on and off, or a single team working a specified number of days per week, the corps said. Each team must have two persons.
Park attendants provide information and assistance to the public, control access, open and close gates, monitor visitor compliance with the rules, issue user permits, reserve sites and facilities, register campers and visitors, and collect fees, among other duties. Contractors will be assigned a motor home/trailer site.
