A Toccoa lawmaker wants adults who get public assistance be subject to random drug testing to keep receiving aid.
Rep. Michael Harden’s proposal, House Bill 464, does not apply to children or anyone receiving welfare for medical care. It calls for adults to submit at least once a year for testing for controlled substances and they would pay for the testing.
The bill is now before the House Judiciary Committee for review.
